Dear BEA Community:
The Department of Health and the Department of Education have set up a new system for districts to contact them regarding positive COVID cases and number of quarantined students due to being close contacts. Reporting is now done on Friday's for the previous week. Here are our case counts for the week of October 8-15, 2021:
Howard Elementary: 0 cases
0 quarantined
Port Matilda Elem.: 0 cases
0 quarantined
Mountaintop Elem.: 0 cases
0 quarantined
Wingate Elementary: 2 cases
6 students quarantined
MS/HS: 4 cases (3 students and 1 adult)
8 quarantined (6 students and 2 adults)
These numbers, especially at the MS/HS are significantly lower than the past several weeks, especially students needing to quarantine. It is my hope that we see these numbers continue to remain low in the coming weeks. I will update you weekly on these counts and provide additional information as needed.
